Parsa, Chaitra 9 : Two people were injured, one critically, in a road accident that occurred on Sunday afternoon in Paterwa Sugauli Rural Municipality of Parsa, police said.
The accident took place at around 2:05 PM on a road section in Paterwa Sugauli–4 Bhathaida when two motorcycles collided head-on. According to preliminary information, a motorcycle (Ba 84 Pa 1320) driven by 17-year-old Sunny Majhi of Paterwa Tol hit another motorcycle (Ba 15 Pa 7486) coming from the opposite direction.
In the accident, 20-year-old Rahul Urau of Sakhuwan Prasauni–1 Serahi sustained serious injuries, particularly to his head and forehead. The other rider, Sunny Majhi, suffered injuries to his left arm and right leg.
Following the incident, the injured were immediately referred to a hospital in Birgunj for further treatment, informed Police Inspector Samunnat Adhikari of the Area Police Office Paterwa Sugauli. Urau is currently undergoing treatment in the ICU.
Police have taken driver Sunny Majhi into custody, and both motorcycles have been seized. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
