Butwal, March 21 — The Siddhartha Highway along the Butwal–Palpa road section has been blocked due to a landslide triggered by continuous rainfall.
According to the Highway Security and Traffic Management Office in Butwal, the road was obstructed after rocks and debris fell in the Siddhababa area at Dobhan, Tinau Rural Municipality–3 of Palpa early Saturday morning.
Officials also reported that the Daunne section of the East-West Highway has become slippery due to rain, leading to a complete halt of traffic from both sides.
Although vehicles were diverted through the Palpa route as an alternative, that route has also been blocked, causing further inconvenience to travelers.
Police stated that it may take several hours to clear the road as rainfall continues.
