Parsa, July 18: A drug abuse awareness program was successfully organized at Shree Aziz Miya Secondary School in Dhobini Rural Municipality–5, Parsa, by Hope for Humanity Organization. The event, chaired by the organization’s Secretary MD Mustaq Ansari, also marked the official launch of the organization’s social campaign.
According to the organizers, the program was conducted in response to the growing trend of adolescents and young people in rural communities becoming involved in drug abuse and dropping out of education. The event focused on raising awareness and encouraging youth to embrace education, discipline, moral values, positive thinking, and social responsibility.
The program began at 10:00 a.m. Aftab Khan, a trainer from Aastha Nepal, conducted a session on drug abuse prevention. He explained the physical, mental, economic, and social consequences of substance abuse and discussed preventive measures, the role of youth, and the importance of early awareness. He encouraged young people to stay away from negative influences and engage in education, skill development, sports, and other productive activities.
Chief Guest Munawwar Ahmad inaugurated the program by cutting the ribbon, followed by a ceremonial lamp-lighting session by the chief guest and distinguished guests.
Among the distinguished guests were Mufti Shafiq Ahmad, Suresh Shah, Salauddin Ahmad, Armed Police Force Biswa BOP Inspector Arjun Dahal, and Mufti Jahur Ahmad. Teachers, students, parents, local residents, social workers, officials and members of Hope for Humanity Organization, Gramin TV Chairman and Executive Editor Nawal Kishor Raut, Director Binod Yadav, and other notable personalities also attended the event.
Speaking at the program, Chief Guest Munawwar Ahmad described drug abuse as one of the most serious social challenges facing society today. He stressed that families, schools, religious institutions, security agencies, media organizations, and the wider community must work together to combat the problem. He urged young people to invest their time in education, skill development, sports, and creative activities, warning that drug addiction can destroy not only an individual’s future but also entire families and communities.
Mufti Shafiq Ahmad highlighted the importance of moral education, religious values, and family discipline in protecting youth from harmful habits. He urged parents to closely monitor their children’s activities. Similarly, Mufti Jahur Ahmad emphasized that drug abuse has long-term negative effects on health, future prospects, and society, and called for stronger awareness campaigns.
Inspector Arjun Dahal of the Armed Police Force praised the initiative and suggested expanding awareness efforts beyond schools through street dramas, community dialogues, parent interactions, and grassroots campaigns. He expressed confidence that such direct engagement would have a greater impact on children, adolescents, and parents.
Secretary and Program Chairperson MD Mustaq Ansari stated that Hope for Humanity Organization was established to promote social service, education, health, youth empowerment, humanitarian assistance, and the creation of a drug-free society. He announced that the organization would continue awareness programs addressing drug abuse, child marriage, domestic violence, illiteracy, social problems, and youth development.
During the event, identity cards and certificates were distributed to the organization’s officials and members. Participants, including teachers, students, parents, and local residents, expressed confidence that such programs would contribute to positive social change and requested their regular continuation at both school and community levels.
At the conclusion of the event, the organization thanked all guests, security personnel, school representatives, media professionals, volunteers, participants, and supporters who contributed to the success of the program. Hope for Humanity Organization also reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its campaigns on education, health, social service, human rights, youth empowerment, and drug abuse prevention across different communities in the future.
