Agency ! Kathmandu, March 21 — Iran has stated that it does not seek a ceasefire with the United States and Israel.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in an interview with Japanese media outlet Kyodo News, said that Iran is not interested in a temporary ceasefire but wants a complete, comprehensive, and permanent end to the war.
“Iran does not want a ceasefire; rather, it seeks a full and lasting end to the conflict,” Araghchi said. He added that Iran welcomes any initiative that can truly end the war, claiming that the conflict was imposed on Iran.
He also stated that Iran is open to hearing and considering peace proposals. “Some countries are trying to find solutions to the ongoing Middle East conflict, but it does not seem that the US is ready to stop its aggression,” he said.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump had indicated that efforts to end the conflict with Iran were close to achieving their objectives, stating on Truth Social that “we are very close to our goal.”
