Jagarnathpur Rural Municipality has unveiled its policies and programs for the fiscal year 2083/84, claiming to be the first local government in Madhesh Province to present its plans for the upcoming fiscal year.

The policies were announced at a program held at the Agriculture and Livestock Service Center Hall in Ward No. 5, where Rural Municipality Chairperson Shrikant Prasad Yadav stated that education, health, and agriculture would continue to receive priority in the coming year.

According to Yadav, new initiatives include the operation of a subsidized municipal pharmacy, expansion of laboratory services at Auraha Health Post, and the launch of a road ambulance service under the “Pothole-Free Municipality Campaign.”

He also said that existing programs such as community health services, free tuition classes for students from poor and Dalit communities, online coaching programs, e-attendance systems in community schools, and distribution of seeds and irrigation motors with a 50 percent subsidy to farmers will continue.

Vice Chairperson Babita Singh, while presenting the policy document, stated that plans have also been included for establishing an agricultural laboratory and delivering public services through a one-door system from the municipality’s own administrative building.

The program was attended by Chief Administrative Officer Sandesh Kumar Yadav, ward chairpersons, municipal assembly members, and municipal employees. The event was moderated by Health Coordinator Prabhendra Sah.
